This yearbook tells the history of the 47th Infantry Division and has over black and white photographs of training, including barracks life, first aid, physical training, communications, use of weaponry, infiltration, combat, and many others. The back of the book shows individual photos of the men who completed training. The 47th Virginia Infantry Regiment was organized 11 June and was accepted into the service of the Confederate States of America (CSA) on 1 July with ten companies identified as A through K. Later, six more companies were added. In August , five companies were transferred to create the nucleus of the 55th Virginia Infantry.
